Helen’s Help

Helens+Help

Dear Helen,

Grades just came out at school and I did not do very well. My parents are really mad at me and now the office says that I can’t do any extracurricular activities.  I am super worried that I will not be able to bring my grades back up in the next 6 weeks for the next progress report.  I was hoping that you might be able to give me some advice because I really want to be able to do all the activities and I don’t want my parents mad at me.

In Deep Trouble

Dear In Deep Trouble:

It is great that you are wanting to improve your grades.  Some steps that will really help is to buy or print out a calendar or agenda. In each class you should write down your assignments and due dates.  This will help keep you organized and then you can double check what assignments are due the next day.

You also will want to set time aside each day right after school to do homework.  If you can finish your homework before you allow yourself to do anything else, this will help prioritize school work and make sure that it is done before you are too tired or run out of time.

Keep working hard and be diligent and I believe you will see positive results.
