The yearly Halloween parade is a big tradition for Hughson’s elementary schools. Every year Hughson Elementary School students dress to impress in their Halloween costumes and participate in a parade that leads them downtown to show off their costumes. It’s a fun tradition and exciting thing to be apart of for the students because they get to be the center of attention and show their costumes to the town.
Fox Road Elementary also participates in this fun tradition but a little differently. Instead of Fox students parading down town they walk to Samaritan Village, Hughson’s retirement home. The workers of Samaritan Village bring out the senior citizens to see all the kids parade down the halls. This parade has been a tradition of all the Halloween festivities in Hughson for many years and hopefully many more to come!
Every year Hughson holds a trunk or treat. Cars from all of Hughson come and decorate their cars in Halloween spirit. Kids and families go to the trunk or treat and get candy, just like a normal day on Halloween except in people’s decorated trunks! Hughson has been holding this great event for many years to give back to the community for the young kids and families of hughson.
Hughson High School has a haunted house every year that students and staff can come and walk through. The haunted house is on October 23-27. The event will be in HHS old gym it will be full of different scary room that the leadership has designed for everyone to enjoy. Make sure to come!
