Congratulations to Olivia Boggan for being this week’s female athlete of the week! Olivia is on the Freshman volleyball team, and is an outstanding player that her team relies on heavily. Even with a loss, Olivia is an uplifting teammate with great sportsmanship. She is described as “determined” and “hardworking” by her teammates. Olivia plans on continuing volleyball through her high school career, and is set on improving her skills to be a necessity to the Hughson volleyball team. Great Job Olivia, congratulations!

Congratulations to Gabriel Lemons for being HHS’s male athlete of the week! Gabriel is a ninth grader on the freshman football team, and he is killing it. Gabriel has been recognized for his determination and overall positive attitude. Gabriel is a great athlete. He is very dedicated to his sport and making his coach proud. It’s been known that student-athletes struggle with mental exhaustion, anxiety, and depression, so being a student athlete is very hard. Gabriel defeats those odds and is an amazing student, teammate, and athlete which just shows how well his time management is and how committed he is to his team. Congratulations Gabriel, the community can’t wait to see you grow throughout high school.
