A few months ago in March, students from HHS got the opportunity to choose who they wanted to represent for their Associated Student Body Class. Megan Duke, a sophomore at Hughson High School, got voted in as the Sophomore Class President.
When discussing why Duke chose to be a part of Hughson’s student leadership, she stated, “Mrs. Ruelas encouraged me to be a part of ASB and to be a part of the community.”
Regarding pros and cons about being the Sophomore Class President, Duke said, “one of the pros is that we kind of put a say in the upcoming events and then the cons are that it is a lot of work to do everything like creating the events.”
When talking about the activities and projects that Duke is currently working on to represent her class, she stated, “we are currently working on the haunted house which each class has a different room that they will be a part of and then we are also working on red ribbon week creating the dress up days and doing decorations.”
When discussing things that are going to happen this year, Duke stated, “later in the year we will also be working on winter formal and prom and other events such as that.”
