There is a point in every high schooler’s education where they likely, at least around here, hear the word “Senioritis”. While some may be unbothered, others might have questions. What is Senioritis? How do you get it? Is there a vaccine? Is it even a disease? And what exactly causes it?
To summarize what Senioritis is, it is a mindset that essentially equates to “It’s my last year, so I’ll do bare bones”. This becomes more and more prevalent when the year comes closer to its end, signaled by people generally not giving half a dang over even a big test. Senioritis is a danger to your grades as it’s pure carelessness. Many teachers also associate it with more obnoxious students and disruptive, nonchalant behavior towards interrupting class.
So, is there any sort of cure towards Senioritis? Since it’s a mindset thing, it’s up to you to avoid it. Keeping a positive mindset and a work ethnic towards school can help you maintain high grades. It also can help you later on during work and college. Keep this stuff in mind and you too might be able to avoid the Senior Disease.
