Halloween is upon us and to kick off the spooky season Hughson High School hosted a haunted house! Last year was the first year that Hughson High’s leadership hosted this frightening event and now it is back and better than ever, just in time for Halloween!
When walking into the haunted house emotions were flying through the roof, at one moment you are scared, the next you are excited, there’s so many feelings going through your head. The dark haunted stairs frightened everyone because now one could expect what could be haunting you when you turn the corner. When turning the corner into the first room, a man in a chair yells for help with a bloody blanket over his head. It is so dark that the only thing you can hear is the screams of the scare actors and the shuffling footsteps in the dark.
All anyone could think about was how many more rooms there were to go through until you could get out. Every room to be walked into was completely black and quiet until someone jumped out and screams filled the room. Some rooms were less scary than the others but there was always a heavy feeling in your chest because of the anticipation of the next scare. The scare actors always know when to catch viewers off guard. One second you are lost in fear because no one knows where to go, and surroundings are completely dark. When you turn around there is the scariest clown to be seen, and it is standing right behind you.
Everything is unexpected. When eyes meet one scare factor, someone will jump out from behind and give a new unexpected fright. They make sure you do not realize what might happen next. Being in the haunted house evokes scary feelings. However, when you walk out, you realize that it was fun and exciting. The haunted house will seem to call you back for another tour inside!
