Congratulations to Israel Gudino for being HHS’s male athlete of the week. Israel is a senior on our varsity cross country team. Israel has been on the cross country team all 4 years. At the last TVL he took his running to a new level at finals by dropping his 5k PR to 18:44 and helping our team move up to #4 in the league. Coach Joel Bernard says, “After 4 years with the program, most kids simply don’t have that much room to improve in one race. Not Israel…Great job Israel, let’s roll at Subs!”
Israel is a great student athlete and we are so happy to have him a part of our cross country team. Scarlet Villarreal says “he works hard at practice and he has a lot of compassion for his sport.” Congratulations Israel for keeping up the amazing work!
Congratulations to Maci Fife for being HHS’s female athlete of the week. Maci is a sophomore and she’s been on our jv cross country team for 2 years. At our last TVL championship, Maci improved her 2 mile time by 1:32 to place as our top runner in the JV girls division. Coach Joel Bernard says, “ Maci could have given up multiple times this season but she chose to persevere and is now able to train pain free … .and her training is starting to pay off. Great Job Maci!”
Maci is an incredible student athlete; she is involved in choir, drama, and cross country. Maci has incredible time management skills and she shows Hughson what a student athlete looks like. Maci, Keep up the good work! We are so excited to see how far you go these next 2 years!
