On April 7, 2023, Daniel Caesar released his third studio album, Never Enough. And like how Daniel always does, he delivers with his newest addition to his discography. Never Enough has 15 tracks, equating to 54 minutes. Features include Mustafa, serpentwithfeet, Omar Apollo, and Ty Dolla $ign. The maturity and the cohesiveness of the album is really shown with Never Enough being so great.
Never Enough’s intro, Ocho Rios, is an amazing start for this album. The soul rock feeling from this song is amazing on the first listen.
Although Valentina, the second track, is good. I wondered if it was just the first snippet of the song the whole time.
Toronto 2014 being a fan favorite, the fan’s taste does not miss. The Mustafa feature really enhances the track at the start.
Let Me Go dropped before the album, and it still is an unskippable track. It just sounds how a R&B or soul song should sound like.
Do You Like Me? is just a vibe throughout the whole track. And I like how upbeat it is compared to the other tracks. It’s a fresh breath of air.
Always is just Daniel Caesar doing what he does best.
Cool is blues and calmness into a song. And the times where he sings in the end is really nice.
Disillusioned is another upbeat song, and is another really good song. I love how this track talks about maturing, which most of us relate to.
Buyer’s Remorse is just Omar and Daniel singing with the occasional instrumentals, and is good.
Shot My Baby has interesting lyrics, but still is good overall.
Pain Is Inevitable is an amazing blues track. Or a song to listen to when you’re on the low.
Homiesexual is a good song despite the hilarious name for the track.
Vince Van Gogh is another upbeat-ish song with Daniel tampering with his vocals, but still being very good.
Superpowers is Daniel talking to his other side about them having superpowers. The backing vocals in Superpowers are amazing, and they just enhance a great song even further.
Unstoppable is such a vibe. The beat has a 1900’s jazz feeling to it.
And overall, Never Enough is an amazing listen throughout the whole album and tracks. It’s probably one of the best albums of this year. While also being a sleeper album, since music fans haven’t given this album a chance.
