A few months ago in March, students from HHS got the opportunity to choose who they wanted to represent for their Associated Student Body Class. Jeff Boggs, a senior at Hughson High School, got voted in as the Senior Class Vice President.
When talking about what inspired Boggs to be a part of Hughson’s student leadership, he stated, “I had free periods and I felt like there was a better way that I could be helping the school then just walking around to class everyday doing nothing. For me personally it’s doing a lot of helping around the school and making sure a lot of things get done.”
Regarding pros and cons about being the Senior Class President, Boggs said, “a real pro is it’s really fun to get to work with all the people from the school, you get to work with teachers, staff, everyone you get to get together coordinate things with a lot of students. A definite con though would be a lot of times things will go to you and get blamed on you that you absolutely had no problem in and everything does come back to you so you have to know how to deal with responsibility.”
When talking about activities and projects that Boggs is currently working on to represent his class, he stated, “we’re getting started on formal, mostly planning and decorations and in addition we are currently in the process of planning for Mr. Husky.”
When discussing things that are going to happen this year, Boggs commented, “we are still starting planning for prom and working through our formals and figuring out our school wide activities. We are still trying to figure out if we are doing anything for Christmas and we should be running the Christmas gift drive for people in need.”
