Athletes of the Week

Finley Wells and Brittan Marker

Congratulations to Larkin Meyer for being HHS’s male athlete of the week! Larkin Meyer is a senior on our Varsity Football Team. Larkin is a star player in every sport he participates in. This past football season we have been seeing nothing but good things from him. Larkin is a player the whole town of Hughson enjoys to see play. Larkin puts so much into football and that hard work shines through when we see him play. One of the top performers in October was Larkin Meyer; he has gotten player of the game multiple times. Friend and Teammate Carlos(Jr.) Guizar says, “He is very hardworking and is super talented in football, he also had a lot of yards against Ripon.”

We have loved watching Larkin play since day one and we can’t wait to see him play at this week’s playoff game against Colfax.

Congratulations to Madden Nobles for being HHS’s female athlete of the week! Madden is a sophomore on our girls gold team. Madden is one small but mighty girl who is quite the athlete. Madden is involved in golf, soccer, and track. She shines in all 3. Madden is an amazing student athlete by maintaining a 4.0 GPA, doing 3 sports, and being involved in clubs. Senior teammate Lily Ulrich says, “Madden is very dedicated and ALWAYS shows up. She is by far my most dedicated teammate on the team and has lots of potential.”

We have been loving to see how Madden has grown at Hughson High and we can’t wait to see how she does these next couple of years. Congratulations Madden, keep up the amazing work.

Finley Wells is in 11th grade. She is 16 years old. This is her first year of journalism. She really enjoys hanging with her sister Presley and her best friend Sophia, they remind her that there is always a reason to be happy and they always make her laugh hysterically. Finley loves to travel, she hopes to travel the whole world especially Europe. She absolutely loves sushi and Dr. Pepper, she could literally live off of it. Finley loves taking pictures and writing it helps clear her mind and let her express how she feels. Finley's favorite thing to do is laugh, eat, and listen to music. Finley looks up to her younger cousin Morgan because he taught her to live every minute the Lord gives her to the fullest.

Brittan Marker is 16 years old and a senior at Hughson High. She comes from a long line of family who have gone to Hughson over the years as well. This is her first year of journalism. She enjoys writing and interviewing people, it makes her happy to inform and be informed about events in the community. Brittan enjoys hanging out with her best friends and working at Dutch Bros. Both of them motivate her to be a better person who wants to spread love to others and radiate positivity. Brittan really loves going to the beach and traveling to tropical places, she also loves snowboarding and the winter time. She really enjoys watching youtube, some of her favorite creators are Cody Ko,  Zane Hijazi,  and Heath Hussar. Family is very important to Brittan, as she spends most of her time with them. Brittan is really excited to have a great senior year, and plan for what life will bring her after high school.
