Every household eats differently and has their own different traditions. Each family has their own traditional foods that they eat every year especially during Christmas time. And if you’re wondering what other people eat during Christmas time, keep reading.
Señora Newsome is one of the Spanish teachers here at Hughson High School and the HYLC Advisor. Newsome has said, “My family gets together to decorate the tree, then we have Christmas dinner, we have tamales, turkey, and lots of food. Then we spend the rest of the day together.”
Emma Holly is a Junior involved with CSF, NAMI, and tennis. Holly said, “Every Christmas my family and I go over to my grandparents house on Christmas Eve to celebrate. My grandmother is from Estonia and she traditionally celebrates on Christmas Eve instead of the actual day. We tend to choose a theme for dinner and cook according to that theme. Then on Christmas morning my mom always makes cinnamon rolls and french toast for us to eat.”
Mrs. Cordano, the counselor and the supervisor of NAMI has said,”We always do Elf on the shelf, make tamales, and have macaroni cheese casserole.” She explained how fun it is on Christmas Eve having all the food they have even if they are basic dishes.
