Congratulations to Carlos Guizar for being one of our male athletes of the week. Carlos is a junior here at Hughson High school, and a member of the varsity football team. As we all know, the football team has been doing amazing in the playoffs, with many players to give recognition to. Carlos stood out in the teams last game in Sacramento against Bradshaw Christian. Carlos was great on defense, with 3 solo tackles, 6 total tackles, and 1 sack. Many important plays and distance in yards occurred because of Carlos’ dedication to his team! We hope to see you continue this dedication as the Huskies play in the NorCal Bowl. Congratulations to you Carlos, your team and the school appreciates you! 

Congratulations David Delgado for being one of this week’s HHS male athletes of the week. David is a senior on our Varsity football team. David is an extremely talented football player and he showed us at this last week’s section football game. David stood out completely against Bradshaw Christian. David is a Receiver and defensive back and all six of his catches either resulted in a first down or a touchdown. David had a 7-yard touchdown reception that helped bring us back. David is the definition of hardworking. David always strives to do his best. He never gives up and always pushes himself and his team for the win.

Teammate Cooper Taber says, “he had great plays against Bradshaw” which David did. David’s response for getting this week’s athlete of the week is, ”I am happy to get recognized and appreciate the school for selecting me for athlete of the week.” HHS thanks David for helping lead the team to a win and take us further in playoffs. Congratulations David, keep it up!
