A few months ago in March, students from HHS got the opportunity to choose who they wanted to represent for their Associated Student Body Class. Hailey Crain, a junior at Hughson High School, got voted in as the ASB Treasurer.
When talking about something that Crain does that other students might not notice at HHS, she stated, “I count a lot of the money for all the events and make sure that everything stays on a budget.”
When discussing what inspired Crain to be a part of Hughson’s student leadership, she stated, “My leadership teacher Mrs. Ruelas inspired me to join Hughson’s student leadership class my sophomore year.”
When regarding activities and projects that Crain is currently working on to represent her class, she said, “Right now I am currently working on the budget for winter formal.”
When talking about things that are going to happen this year, she commented, “Soon we are going to start planning prom, we are going to help set up for the graduation, and then there’s going to be a couple of rallies.”
All in all leadership classes in high school show you a variety of different life skills like being a team player and having independence. It also gives you valuable communication and leadership skills. Don’t skip on choosing leadership as one of your electives next year!
