In “The Nightmare before Christmas,” Jack Skellington is the main character who scares kids of all ages on Halloween and gets many nicknames including “Mr Unlucky“ and “The Pumpkin King” due to Jack being the king in Halloween town. On Halloween Eve, Jack begins to plan his best tricks while Oogie Boogie sends three kids known as Lock, Shock, and Barrel to go and kidnap Jack but end up kidnapping Sally, who is Doctor Finkelstein’s assistant. As Jack goes into town he notices that the whole town square was deserted with only information from the Mayor. As Bugs sent from Oogie Boogie attack the citizens of the town, Jack finds Lock, Shock, and Barrel attacking said town. Jack had run upon a giant spider which he quickly defeated, and went to his home. His home also had been invaded by bugs and he got trapped inside due to Lock, Shock, and Barrel and is forced to use Zero, Jack’s dog, to help guide Jack through the Chimney and escape the bug infested house.
Jack gets sent on a mission to find Sally, but as soon as Jack looks through a Pumpkin Patch he finds Corpse Kid being held captive by the three kids and decides to help him. After being freed, Corpse Kid got kidnapped once again but this time they used the kid as bait for Jack and the three kids had captured Jack which forced Jack to leave to the graveyard. As soon as Jack returns to town he sees many people getting attacked by bugs and once Jack arrives at Dr. Finkelstein’s lab he finds Dr. Finkelstein was trapped out of his lab and the security system out of control due to a massive bug messing with the panels. As Jack enters Oogie Boogie’s lair he sees Santa and Sally being held captive; but as Jack Free’s Santa and Sally he bans Oogie Boogie to never have his own lair and Santa returns back to Christmas Town. While Sally meets Jack, Jack says he likes having a new friend but when Sally spoke as well a worried Dr. Finkelstein calls out for Sally saying he was very troubled about her safety but only to be ignored by the rag doll. At the end of the movie Jack and Sally had shared a kiss on the spiral hill while Zero, Jack’s ghost dog, flies around happily in the moon.
