A few months ago in March, students from HHS got the opportunity to choose who they wanted to represent for their Associated Student Body Class. Madison Barretta, a senior at Hughson High School, got voted in as the ASB Public Relations/Recorder.
When discussing what inspired Barretta to be a part of Hughson’s student leadership, she stated, “At my last school at Orestimba I was a part of the student council there and I also knew Mrs. Ruelas from English, being a TA for her, and film studies so I decided I would try it and so far it has been a really fun experience.”
When regarding pros and cons to being the ASB Public Relations/Recorder, Barretta said, “I have to make sure that I go through everything multiple times to make sure that anything that is posted on social media has no gang signs or anything weird at all; just make sure everything is school appropriate.”
When talking about activities and projects that Barretta is currently working on to represent her class, she commented, “right now we are currently working on winter formal and getting everything organized for that, the theme is timeless seas and ocean themed so we are trying to get all of the props up and ready for this Saturday.”
When discussing things that are going to happen this year, Barretta stated, “Well basically we are just trying to get all the dances in order prom is a big one right after this and we are trying to get that all in order and that will be the next big thing that we do.”
