Everyone has a gift they would really like for Christmas. I interviewed five Hughson High School students and asked them what is the number one thing they want for Christmas. Their answers varied, some wanted money, others a car, even some wanted just food. If you could have one thing for Christmas what would it be?
Wyatt Craighead is a freshman at Hughson High, I asked him what was the number one thing he wanted for Christmas and he said, “Money to be able to get more money.”
I then asked him why he wanted this gift and he said because he is tired of not having enough money to buy himself the things that he wants.
Jasmin Richardson is a senior at Hughson High, I asked her what is the number one thing she wants for Christmas and she said, “An endless supply of Snapple Fire Flavor.”
I then asked her why she wanted this certain gift and she said because she recently found out she is allergic to caffeine and so she needed a drink that had great flavor and would keep her energized without the caffeine and so she found this new Snapple flavor and has been obsessed since.
Arianna Sanchez is a senior at Hughson High, I asked her what is the number one thing she wants for Christmas and she said, “I want more jewelry, necklaces, bracelets, rings, things like that.”.
I then asked her why she would want some more jewelry and she said that she loves to accessorize with jewelry and to have it because pieces of jewelry help to pull looks together and make everything fancier.
Xander Everett is a sophomore at Hughson High, I asked him what is the number one thing he wants for Christmas and his response was, “A full drum set, some more drumsticks.”
When I asked Xander why he wanted some more of these things he had said it was because he loves to play the drumset and being able to play pieces from songs that are made by his favorite bands makes him really happy.
The last person I had interviewed was Karidee Thompson who is a junior at Hughson High. I asked her what is the number one thing she wants for Christmas and she said, “I’m not really sure, maybe some food or something like that.”
I then asked her if she could pick any food to eat and she said McDonald’s.
As you can see everyone has different wants and reasons for those wants. Not everyone will want or need the same thing and that is the beauty of Christmas. You are able to give people the things they want or need and they can give to you too. Giving gifts is the biggest tradition for Christmas and I can see why. Not only does the person receiving the gift feel joy and happiness when they see something they have really wanted for a long time finally appear in their arms but, the people that give gifts get their own sense of joy by seeing the person they care about get a gift and being able to see the smile on their face. Christmas is a time for joy and being able to make those and yourself happy.
