You probably have seen people with odd black jackets. Adorned with patches and pins, probably labeled with Hughson, and of course covered with Hughson attire and branding. You might wonder what these odd jackets are for, how you get them, or why it’s so important to school culture. I wish to explain what they are and their purpose in terms of a school.
The jacket is known as a Letterman’s Jacket. It’s mostly a Senior uniform but you can have one whenever you want during High School. Letterman jackets are made in a way to be patriotic towards your school. However, there is something unique about the jackets that becomes usable as almost a walking trophy board. Some activities, like sports and band, give additional patches and stuff you can sew onto your vest.
The patches are arrangeable in any way you see fit for your jacket. It’s made to show off your best traits of your school year. Whether it’s the usual academic patches, block H’s due to sports, or even pins and badges of your academic wonder, your Letterman’s is made to display it. Your achievements and sense of style are for the Letterman’s to display for your peers.
