Hughson High boys basketball finished out the Delhi Winter Basketball Classic, taking home third place in Varsity and JV taking first place.
For Varsity, Hughson played Pacheco in the second round of the tournament. Pacheco shot lights out and won by four points. The final score was 57-53 gaining us a loss. JV took another win with a final score of 40-23.
The next team Varsity played was Galt, which Hughson won 76-25, giving them third place. Galt’s Varsity team only played with 5 players and, with one getting hurt mid-game, had to go down to only four players on the court. JV went up against Denair and had a final score of 62-34 gathering them another win and winning them the tournament.
The next game was Oristemba, a tough opponent for both levels. Varsity fought hard, but came up short with a score of 53-52. JV was able to pull out a win 54-32.
The Varsity team and JV team played Johansen both coming up short, with Varsity scoring 69-56 and 54-41 for JV.
For Varsity, Hughson played against Ripon Christian High School at home. RC played a solid strong game with a huge height advantage on Hughson, ending the game 80-34. For JV, the score was 59-55 giving them another loss.
