Senior year is one of your most memorable and exciting years of your time spent in high school. You’re nearing a whole new journey and chapter in your life. Senior year is a time to cherish all your friends, memories, and even to try new things to make your last year as a teenager memorable. During your final year of high school you experience a lot of lasts. Your last Friday night lights, your last school dance, your last time going to In-N-Out after a big football game, and your last year getting to see the face of your favorite teacher(s) everyday.
Madi Duron is a senior here at Hughson High School. Madi said, “It’s really sad because I used to be sad when all of my senior friends were so happy to leave but I would be confused why they wanted to leave because everything’s so great here at Hughson.”
Hughson High is a pretty big school but also more than that Hughson High is a big family. Once you’ve been a part of Hughson schools and the town for a lot of your life it’s hard to imagine leaving the comfort of your small town.
Madi also said, “Now I’m at the point where I’m just like ‘okay packing my bags, getting on with life!’ I’m really excited about it, I’m ready to turn a new leaf and be independent.”
Although it’s sad and also scary knowing that you’re graduating, it’s also really exciting knowing that you get to start a new journey of your life!
Another senior attending Hughson High is Olivia Garza. Liv said, “I feel good. I feel like I have taken advantage of the four years that I’ve had here. I’ve also made a lot of memories and been involved in a lot of the events going on here which is really important”
The memories and fun events in high school are all a big part of what makes your school years memorable. Going to all the big football games under the lights and all the school dances are core memories for many high school students.
Lillian Agueda, who is also a senior, said, “I feel really sad because I’m leaving all my friends and teachers. Especially the AG teachers because I look up to them.”
She also said, “I’m also excited because I want to get an actual job and make money and also go to school to become a teacher.”
Senior year is a time to cherish and enjoy every moment. One day you’re just a freshman walking into your first day of high school looking around seeing unfamiliar faces all over. Then the next you’re already walking across that stage with your graduating class, and seeing all the familiar faces ready to start a new chapter in their lives.
