On January 24, 2024 the California Scholarship Federation held its first meeting of the semester. Why is this important you ask? Well, to be in the club, students must register every semester.
If you do not know what the California Scholarship Federation (CSF) is, CSF is a club that is established nationwide and provides scholarship opportunities to its members after graduation. From the initial ten dollars per semester, the club uses its dues to provide scholarships ranging from two thousand and five thousand dollars to every member based on academic achievement. Aside from this, being in the club provides opportunities to tour different colleges and first priority on signing up for them.
It is important to note that not all members will obtain the privileges given at graduation. These will also include certificates, front row seats, tassels, pins, and honors. To qualify for all the benefits of membership, a student must be a member from their second semester of sophomore year to their second semester of senior year. To completely register, students must get a registration paper from the office. When turning in the envelope, either at the next CSF meeting, or to Mrs. Giesbrecht in room three, students must turn in a printed copy of their last semester transcripts, their filled out registration form, and ten dollars for dues. It is also suggested to write both name and grade on the envelope before turning it in.
This year, CSF is starting a fundraiser for scholarships and trips that will end on March 15, 2024. This collaboration with See´s Candies includes a website where those who want to support the club can buy treats for Easter time.
The next CSF meeting will take place on February 20, 2024, where it will be the last day to turn in applications, and officers will explain any new activities or announcements to any new or returning members. Applying for this club will not only help students on their journey to college but also into a community of supportive friends and members.
