Today on the Weekly Outlook, we’ve got two students’ opinions on if we should have tardy sweeps. A tardy sweep is when the students do not make it to class on time and the teachers lock the doors and they get detentions. The point of the tardy sweep is to make a change in the attitudes about getting to class.
Gavin Gomez had to say this about tardy sweeps, “I think tardy sweeps are annoying because say it was break and we were eating and we were not done and class was all the way around the campus and the bell rang. Everybody’s schedule is different and it can be hard to get all the way to the other side. And also we are still making it to class. We were just late so i mean as long as we were going.”
Sophia Spears stated, “I think tardy sweeps help the students become more responsible and manage their time better. It will help us in the real world where we learn there are consequences for being late.”
