Larkin Meyer from Hughson Highs’ track team is considered one of Hughson’s best athletes. He recommends track to all athletes of every type. His main events are the 100 m dash, 200 m dash, long jump, high jump, and 4×1 relay. He is mostly known for his football prowess, and uses track as a way to gain explosiveness and speed for football and he does 200 meter dash for more endurance while on the field. He says “I enjoyed track because it makes me an overall better athlete and it’s something that coaches and scouts really enjoy seeing from their kids.”
Track also helps him with soccer and his endurance. “ I’ve always enjoyed soccer, but I just recently started to play so I can boost my endurance for football games. I like to have a lot of dirt so I can have more playing time, and the coaches won’t have to take me out as often.”
He says “Whenever it comes to football I will do anything I can to play the best that I can, whether that’s doing other sports to help me, or doing things at home to boost my skill.”
Overall, you can tell that Larkin Meyer from Hughson High School is one of the best tri-sport athletes at Hughson High. Holding records on track, starting as a wide receiver in football, and starting on the varsity soccer team. All of these accomplishments show he is one of the best athletes currently at Hughson.
