Hector Nuno is a track and field athlete at Hughson High School. He runs shot put, discus, and the throwers relay. Hector said, “I do track down the condition for basketball and football, doing shot and disc helps me with throwing the football and helps me condition my strength and build my power. I started to do track my freshman year and ever since that I’ve been seeing great results on and off the football field and basketball court.”
He also said “I enjoy the community and track, especially more this year because a lot more people from football have joined to try and increase their athletic abilities so they can perform better for the varsity football season. It’s nice to be able to track with all of my football friends and be able to improve and train with them more out of the football season. I think being on track all together has created a bigger bond between all of us that will help us communicate and stick together better throughout the football season. Although I did not start as quarterback last year for most of the games I hope that this can help me build a better relationship with the team so they can trust me this varsity year with being their quarterback.”
Overall you can tell that Hector really enjoys track and will do anything to strive and do better to have his best performance for football and basketball.
