On a random Sunday of March, a lonely duckling named Esther walked behind his siblings. He was what one would call the ugly duckling and he knew it. His fur was dark and patchy and his beak was shorter than his siblings, he was an outcast and as such developed a shy personality that caused him to hide away from his family and friends.
However, on that one Sunday, now known as Easter Sunday, Esther got separated from his family and stumbled down a hill. There he found a broken egg, at the time it appeared to him to be a very ugly rock that suddenly started to crack.
A bright light broke out of the egg to reveal… nothing. Esther grew curious and as he got closer to the broken egg shards, that were so bright he saw a reflection. A reflection of a grand and “handsome” duckling that appeared nothing like himself; but it was.
Esther was in disbelief for a great amount of time until reality sunk in, he was that good looking duckling. From then on he had a gradual shift in perspective, a kind that he himself didn’t see but was obvious to those around him, he was confident.
Esther’s family had come back to find him not long after and as he followed along, he started to open up and interact with his siblings. Throughout the rest of his life, Esther became a confident and “handsome” duckling that was able to renew and begin a life that he was proud of. This is most appropriate as, ¨Easter is meant to be a symbol of hope, renewal, and new life.”
