HHS was a unique high school for many reasons. Being in a small town, with such a renown in sports and education to be among the best, it’s a great high school of its own. One of its most well known tricks for its students were the incentives added to being great at academics. One of these was of course The Finals Pass. Sadly that will no longer be the case soon, so let’s talk about it.

The finals are notorious for how long they are, as well as difficult. HHS however decided to give their high grading students a way out for their successes throughout the year. These passes gave use depending on class, but they also sent you to a special place in school to spend time until the period ends.

Now, I am sad to see it go. I enjoyed the bonus of being good at school and getting an incentive, and it makes me a bit upset that others ruined the system for me. But alas, I know that it doesn’t work as they want it to, and some teachers do their own system of accepting the finals pass. If the teacher wants to let you slide, then it’s still their choice, just not with a coupon. We’ll have to see if this was their plan all along, but until then, I will forever remember the convenience of Finals Passes.
