On this week’s edition of Pondering Thoughts, we’re going to review our UFC 300 picks. Starting with Deiveson Figueirdo vs Cody Garbrandt, I had picked Figueiredo by knockout but he submitted him in the second round via choke.
Next fight was Bobby Green vs Jim Miller, we got this one completely wrong Bobby Green massacred him and we had picked Jim Miller by knockout.
Next up is Jalin Turner vs Renato Moicano, we got this one correct as well but there was a scary moment for Moicano as he got dropped in the first round.
Moving to the Preliminary Card, first up is Diego Lopes vs Sodiq Yusuff, there’s not much to say about this fight. We got it right as well. It was just a quick first round knockout.
Next is Calvin Kattar vs Aljamain Sterling, we got this pick wrong. I had thought Calvin was going to box him at range but Aljo closed the distance and took him down for three rounds.
Last fight of the Prelims was Jiri Prochazka vs Aleksandar Rakic, we got this right as well but this was a very back and forth fight but Jiri got the job done.
Finally on to the main card, first up is Charles Olivera vs Arman Tsarukyan. We got this pick wrong. Arman was able to out grapple him and even stunned him on the feet at one point.
Next up is Max Holloway vs Justin Gaethje, this is my most proud pick as people doubted him but he ran through him and even knocked him out in the last second of the round.
Lastly, Alex Periera vs Jamahal Hill, we got this pick right as well, Alex knocked him out in the first round and there isn’t really much to say about this fight as it ended early.
Overall we went 6 out of 9. I’d say it was a successful day.
