The Golden State Warriors played against the Sacramento Kings in a play-in tournament, with the Warriors ending their season with a final score of 94-118. Stephen Curry put up an okay scoring game, with 22 points, followed by Johnathan Kuminga with 16, then Draymond Green and Andrew Wiggins with 12 each. Klay Thompson notably went 0 for 10 in Field Goals, with 6 being from behind the 3 point line. For the Kings, Keegan Murray almost had a double-double, with 32 points and 9 rebounds, followed by Domantas Sabonis with his own double-double, having 16 points and 12 rebounds. De’aaron Fox dropped 24 points, with Harrison Barnes trailing with 16.
The Los Angeles Lakers played the New Orleans Pelicans, with a much closer game pulling off a win 110-106. Lebron James pulled off a near triple-double, missing it by one rebound and one assist, having 23 points, 9 assists, and 9 rebounds. Following him was other team superstar Anthony Davis, with a double-double, having 20 points and a huge 15 rebounds. Other notable players were DAngelo Russel with 21 points and Austin Reaves with 16. Pelicans key player, Zion Williamson, brought everything he had this game, dropping a huge 40 bomb double-double, with 11 rebounds. Unfortunately, the rest of the roster seemed lacking, with the next highest stats being from Larry Nance Jr., having 10 points and 12 assists for a double-double.
With Golden State out of the way and the recent loss to the Los Angeles Lakers, the New Orleans Pelicans now find themselves matched against the Sacramento Kings. With Superstar Zion Williamson out, the game was kept a lot closer than the Kings previous match up, though they were still able to pull out a win 98-105. The Kings double-double machine Domantas Sabonis was put to work yet again, with 14 boards and 23 points. De’aaron Fox was also highly notable, with 32 whole points. Following them was Harrison Barnes, with 17 points of his own, then 11 from Keegan Murray. For the Pelicans, 75 percent of their players that were on the court for over two minutes all scored a minimum of ten points or more. Furthermore, they shot over ten percent better on field goals and three pointers, as well as snagging 8 more defensive rebounds. They had no stand out players with Williamson out, with Brandon Ingram still putting up a solid 24. The real team leader was Jonas Valanciunas, with 19 points and 12 rebounds, getting him a much needed double-double for his team. Trey Murphy III was nearing one as well, with 16 points and 8 rebounds. Overall, the Kings were set up with better stars on their team, but the Pelicans played a better overall game, knocking out the Kings from contention.
