On the morning of May 5th 1862, 6,000 French troops infiltrated and stormed into a Mexican city called Heroica Puebla de Zaragoza in order to bring it under French rule. The Mexican soldiers were outnumbered by the French but still managed to put up a huge fight. By the early evening the French army had retreated. This victory made history as Cinco de Mayo or The 5th of May.
