On Hughson High’s track and field team we have senior Madison Barretta. Madison has been involved on our Hughson track and field team since her junior year and the events she participates include 200 meters, long jump, triple jump, and she sometimes participates in relays. Even though she started track and field her junior year she has really caught on to how things are here. Also despite being a senior and having many other things on her mind she is still so active and persistent in her events and has even improved a lot since she started last year. 

Many of Madison’s teammates and even coach Bernard all agree Madison is just an overall active, persistent, and genuinely caring person. Coach Bernard actually stated that, “despite just moving to Hughson High her junior year she has become really involved in the school and not even just track and field either she’s kind to everyone and really brings a great healthy energy to everyone around her, even during regular school hours.” 

Everyone at Hughson who knows Madison is going to be sad she’s graduating but so proud of everything she has accomplished in just the short time she was here.
