The phrase “Kindness is Key” is something that we’ve been taught from an early age. Kindness is one of the most important parts of humanity. It is versatile, it can be empathy, acceptance, thoughtfulness, anything! Without kindness we devolve into a world of hate. Being kind is incredibly easy, usually costs nothing, and makes you feel better about yourself.
Kindness is something that benefits everyone. Both the giver and receiver are gaining something during a positive interaction. There are mental health benefits to being kind, such as decreasing the symptoms of depression and anxiety. Acts of kindness increase well-being and improve support networks, while creating a healthy environment for yourself and others. It can also decrease loneliness, improve relationships, and combat a bad mood.
Kindness is often contagious, and inspires others to join in, whether it be through a simple compliment or a generous deed, it will impact somebody’s day for the better. Being kind is never a regrettable experience, instead it allows us to learn and grow as individuals. Kindness is a movement, love, grace, acceptance, or whatever you want it to be! But whatever you do, practice kindness in your daily life.
