The end of the school year is a time for self reflection: the ability to witness and evaluate our own cognitive, emotional, and behavioral processes. It is one of the most important tools that we have at our disposal. It allows for a person to view their overall mental function and change the negative habits they may have. Self reflection is one of the main reasons that change within your own mindset can happen.
Reflecting on yourself boosts the accountability that you hold yourself to. Not many people can stare their actions and decisions in the face and feel comfortable continuing that behavior. Self reflection requires you to think about your choices and connect with yourself on a level that may not be totally comfortable, but change is uncomfortable. Ways to self reflect are to: meditate, practice gratitude, reconnect with nature, and write down the goals you want to achieve.
By self reflecting, people slowly become the best version of themselves that they can be. It allows for the necessary changes that come with life anyway, but presents them in a way that provides a choice to the individual. You are CHOOSING what you do with your life, and making whatever decisions you find best for yourself!
