I’ve been playing football for the entirety of my high school career. This sport has brought a lot of positive things to my life and taught me a lot. It’s taught me discipline, toughness, perseverance, gratitude, and what being a man is. It introduced me to strangers who became family, and we went through trials and tribulations together. Now that my high school career is over, it’s given me a reason to go to college, and I’ll be playing college football for the next 4-6 years. It’s taught me that quitting or giving up does nothing but negative for someone. It’s brought me so much success, growth, and happiness and meaning. All because of a sport, I can make a career and earn an education out of it now. Without the sport, I’d be somewhere, probably doing something bad.
I’ve played football for 7 years of my life and it has taught me so many things. This upcoming year will be my last year playing football. Throughout my years of playing football I have made friends that I now call brothers, I’ve made memories that will last a lifetime. I have also been taught so many life lessons like “Nobody else can make you run to the ball”, or how you should always do things the right way, many of these I use now in my everyday life. Along with this it has also taught me many small things like how to respect and work with others, how to communicate, and especially how to be a team player. Football for me has always led me to a good path. It keeps me out of trouble, keeps me busy, keeps me in shape and it even keeps my mind sharp. Football is so great and I always have fun playing it. I would just like to thank the sport itself for changing me in a good way, as to who I am now without football I genuinely don’t know who I would be or what I would be doing today.
