Now that the 2024 school year is now coming to a close the whole school would like a recap of the JV football season, the JV football team ended 6-3-1. To celebrate the winning record of the JV Hughson football team’s winning record we would like to share the words of the MVP players from the past year.
Cooper Peterson is a left D-end and offensive tackle that has very strong feelings towards the football program. “Overall I feel like the Hughson football team put in a lot of work this year. I know everybody was giving it their 100% in practice, I feel like our team did pretty good this year. We had a winning record and honestly I feel like we all had a lot of fun. I want to start this off by giving a pause to our coaches, especially the defensive ones. They all did a really good job teaching and explaining everything to us to make sure that we did our assignments correctly and without them I don’t think we would have gone this far in the season as we would have. Another thing that I’m very grateful for that people don’t really talk about is the scout team offense. They always gave a really good look and prepared us for what we were going into on game day. Overall I feel like our football team did a really good job this year and I’m excited to go to our varsity year and go undefeated for the very first time.”
Eli Wilbanks is a running back and middle linebacker for the Hughson football team, “I really enjoyed the season. I had an opportunity to go up to varsity for a little bit but I declined so I could stay down a level and be with all my friends. Overall I think our team did a really good job and I enjoyed being with everybody I think the most fun I had was our game against Elite High School We all had a really good time playing them and they’re all great kids Overall I feel like our team did pretty good but they’re still a lot we have to work on into our varsity year.
Another MVP of our season was Cole Prouty, our fullback and middle linebacker. “I don’t really have too much to say about our team. We went in and played hard. We didn’t do an okay job. We still have a lot of work left for next year. I hope that we can win another championship because this is the first time in school history that we will win three championships in a row.”
For the final MVP of this story we want to shout out Nic Wiggs our offensive guard and D-tackle, He is easily one of the most aggressive JV players we have had this year. “ Honestly I think we did a good job. I wish we could have done more. We lost a lot of games that we shouldn’t have lost but we’re more prepared for next season and I know that the entire team is going to be working in the off season to be able to win our games next year.”
Overall Hughson football Had a wonderful JVC’s and were all very excited to see what they’re going to be capable of with their new weapons on their varsity team.
