Welcome to the first week of The Pre-Game where we talk about score predictions, and give you an inside view of the players’ thoughts before their upcoming games. Here we will give you the best look for a great prediction during the upcoming week in Huskies sports.
Varsity Girls Flag Football vs. Central Valley High School at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 3
The Varsity Girls Flag Football team look to leave a mark this season with their very first game ever taking place at Central Valley.
Finley Wells has a lot to say about practice and how they have prepared. Wells said, “We have been practicing hard all week and getting prepared because of all the canceled games we have had lately.” With the schedule having lots of miscommunication between schools, Hughson has been set back so far but still look to start off strong.
SCORE PREDICTION: Hughson 20 to Central Valley 7
Varsity Cross Country at Ceres 4 p.m.
With very strong coaching the Hughson XC team looks to be quite strong this season. Sophomore Track star Ty Swain states “The Training has been very hard; we run 6 miles everyday at a 6:40 mile pace, we have been working out and taking care of our bodies by eating and drinking the proper nutrients we need to do well In this race”. Their bodies are ready to face the harsh environments and heat they will see in the upcoming months.
SCORE PREDICTION: Hughson First Place
Varsity Football vs. Pitman High School at 7:00 p.m.
Pitman High school is well known to have one of the weaker football teams in the area in comparison to a red hot Hughson team. Junior Running Back Eli Wilbanks, “The practices have been hard but very productive, we have been working on everything that makes a football team the best in the league” Eli also is ready to show what he is made of “I’m gonna run through all the holes and have 100+ yards”. This week Hughson will look to take care of business during their homecoming game by a wide margin and with the amount of weapons on the team it shouldn’t be too much of a struggle. From the beginning, expect things to get out of hand.
SCORE PREDICTION: Hughson 49 to Pittman 7
