Freshmen football deserves cheerleaders. Cheerleaders have a big impact on football. They get the crowd loud, cheer for the team, and hype up the football players, but why do only JV and varsity get cheerleaders?
As #3 from the freshman football team, Jeffrey Weston, states, “I want someone other than my mom to cheer me on.”
Freshmen deserve the same amount of respect as JV and Varsity football and should be able to have cheerleaders to hype them up throughout the game.
When interviewing the cheer Coach, Katelyn Tavernier, she said something along the lines of the freshmen having a big impact on the crowd, and it would be nice to have more people cheering for the freshman team. It would also be fun to watch freshmen cheerleaders dance and show off their skills while waiting for halftime to end.
#1 Matthew Ruiz on the freshmen team stated, “I think it would be cool if we had cheerleaders so we can hear the crowd get louder and louder at our games.”
Having cheerleaders for the freshmen football would not only benefit the team but benefit the school by spreading school pride throughout the school year. Freshmen deserve to be treated the same as JV and Varsity Football
