This fictional book follows a girl named Paedyn Gray and how she lives in this poor town called the Slums with her best friend Adena. In the kingdom of Ilya, it is run by the King and his wife. They have two sons Kitt and Kai Azer. To live in that kingdom you have to be an Elite; meaning that you have some sort of power. You can be a crawler, have super strength, illusions, and more. If you have a power that’s too overpowered like mind reading or silencer, which means you can stop others powers, you will be executed. You will also be executed if you don’t have a power making you an Ordinary, and it’s rumored that you also weaken the Elites when you’re around them. Then somehow our main character Paedyn, an ordinary, runs into Kai Azer who is an Elite and his job is to clear the Kingdom of Ilya of ordinary.

I really loved this book and it is currently my second favorite right behind ‘fourth wing’. There is no real romance but there is a lot of tension with Paedyn, Kit, and Kai, and honestly I think I like that better. There is a lot of action around page 70, it doesn’t take long to get to know and love the characters, and the book kept me guessing what was going to happen till the end. And the way it ended made me need the next book, THEN I was not ready to wait for it to be released!
