When this book was released, it got very popular and it was turned into a Netflix show that was released July 1st. The show only follows the first book out of three; the others are titled “Good Girl Bad Blood” and “As Good As Dead.” The first one is about a teenager named Pip. For her Senior project she decided that her topic was going to be about a murder that happened in her town five years back, but it’s never set right with her. She knew both of the people involved and she didn’t believe that they would do that.
The case stated that a girl named Andy Bell was killed by her boyfriend Sal Sigh and out of guilt he committed suicide. She ended up finding holes in the case and she decided to investigate more by putting herself into bad places which added a lot of suspense to the book. I fell in love with this book! It was one of my favorite books for a while, and once I got into the story I couldn’t stop thinking about it! When I would sit and read, it would take a lot for me to get away from my book.
The night I finished it I told my whole family about it, probably driving them crazy with it! They hated it, but I thought it was really fun. Once the show came out I stayed up all night watching it, it didn’t fully line up with the book, and the book had a lot more details to it. I did still enjoy it more than I thought I was going to, but the book will always be better in my mind. I really loved the suspense and how there was always something new that Pip was getting into. Everyone around her was against her using the ‘Andy Bell Case’ for her project, especially after she was getting threats from unknown people for her looking into the case. Yet, she did it anyway, and that was very entertaining to me.
