As we all know the back parking lot is always packed at the beginning and ending of school. Due to this students and faculty need to be careful walking in the parking lot, but the responsibility of safety shouldn’t just be put on the pedestrian, but rather the pedestrian and the vehicle’s driver. Hughson High has rules and regulations that rule over the safety and the operation of the back parking lot.
Hughson High School’s main priority is to have all students safe on campus or outside campus, especially in the student parking lot, obviously the student parking lot can be a dangerous area with students driving, on bikes, scooters, skateboard and even walking.
Due to some students being student drivers it can get a little hectic. One of the main rules being that student drivers must go at a slow pace whether the parking lot is empty or full. Another rule Hughson High has in their student parking is no running, or being distracting. Being in a parking lot is meant for student’s to have a parking spot and not a run around area.
One of campuses main rules is that student’s are respectful of other student’s and their vehicles or belongings. This goes on to say that no matter what you should keep your hand to yourself and off of other students property such as their vehicles.
Thankfully, there have not been situations where a student was harmed nor hospitalized due to student’s being safe and watching their surroundings. Hughson High School staff members Jaime and Julian have done a great job at making sure student’s stay safe on campus grounds. That helps our students feel more safe in our community.
