“Hey son, time to wake up, It’s time to wake up,” My father said. “Alright, dad I’m up, I was just resting my eyes,” I said. “Yeah sure Adonis, come and eat your breakfast.” My father said in a humorous tone. Today was my birthday and I was hoping my father could make it this time and, yet again, he is busy at work. As I eat my breakfast in disappointment, my father says, “Hey son, I know you’re disappointed in me and I get that, I missed countless birthdays. But I got you something you might love.”

 My father got me an Android and I was excited because I barely had any friends at school. High school is tough for me and I had trouble making friends my whole life. My father dragged the Android inside and told the Android “Say hi Caine.” Caine responded accordingly ,“Hi Adonis.” My father then gets called to work and apologizes to me, saying, “Sorry I can’t be here for your birthday, enjoy your gift and I’ll be home soon.” It was weird for me after my dad left the house because this was my first Android and I didn’t know what to do with him.

I asked Caine If he wanted to play a game and then he said, “Yes master, what do you want to do?” I said, “Don’t call me master, call me Adonis.” I decided to play a card game. I was having fun with Caine by playing an old world card game called Uno. Caine was in the lead, and not surprising really since I am competing with a machine, but I wasn’t upset that I was losing, I was just fascinated that in just a few moves he managed to win. As I watch Caine play I just see his face; it’s emotionless and I sometimes wish Androids can feel emotions. We had lots of fun and it was time to go to bed. 

I said good night to Caine and he responded, “Good night Adonis, see you tomorrow.” A few hours later, My father came home and told me to wake up. I was confused that my father came home earlier than he should’ve and he looked terrified and paranoid. I asked “Father, what’s going on, are you okay?” He said “I’m fine, I need you and Caine to lock the doors and windows, something is coming.” I did what he asked and my dad set up the force field around the house. I was surprised and asked my father, “Is there something bad happening, father?” He responded “Yes Adonis, but I can’t explain it right now.” I braced for what was coming and hoped we were going to be okay.
