The Hughson Huskies, this last week, did not have a game. This week was the Huskies bye week which means they did not play a team for that 1 week. During this extra week, the Hughson Huskies took this extra time to prepare for Ripon. Huskies usually practice after school everyday. The Huskies at practice try to perfect as much as they can such as their alignment assignment, or the timing of a certain play. The Huskies also like to practice games; situations to get them ready for the game. Coaches always preach to players about keeping a high and energetic practice, pushing the players to get better everyday. Every week the Huskies change their game plan accordingly and both sides of the ball have players learning the new game plan all week long.
Last week Hughson Huskies trained and practiced like they still had a game, preparing themselves for Ripon for the following week. On Monday they worked out with their amazing coach Wolfley. He had them do agility workouts so that way they can gain more speed and endurance out on the field. And on Tuesdays and Thursdays they go out to the field or practice field, go straight to practice, and work on what they need to in order for them to win their game against Ripon.
While Players do both of these all week long coaches remind them how important it is to eat and drink right. It is also essential that players get their rest and do not overwork themselves. As a player, many say it is important to eat throughout the day before practice to keep your energy up and get your body the nutrients it needs.
