League Season here we go! Ripon is the first test for us. We played very well against them last year. The only difference this year is we play them week 4 instead of week 10, so we are both fresh into the season. Ripon came into the game 1-2 but we know we can’t take them lightly due to it being a league game and a very crucial game to start our league schedule alive. It was an away game, so things were pretty rushed. We hit a lot of traffic so there wasn’t any time to get on the field during the JV halftime. I was able to get my chemistry and warm during the defensive warmups. It was their homecoming, so we came into the game with a chip on our shoulder to ruin it. After team warm ups I knew we were gonna have a great game. 

Game time! They started out with the ball and took a lot of time out, but stalled on our side of the fifty giving us the ball and we quickly drove down the field and scored. They got the ball back and took a lot of time again, but the defense once again held them to no points. We stalled out on our next drive, giving the ball back to Ripon and just before the half our defense let them into half with no points and us with 7. We went into the half not satisfied with 7 points and knew when we got the ball to start the second half we had to score. That’s exactly what we did, but we took most of the 3rd quarter off the clock. This put us up 14-0, but they drove down on their next drive and scored. We came back and scored again. We knew we had control of the game and for the rest of the game our defense only held them to 7 points and we scored one more time, making the score 28-7. This was a hard fought game, and we know that we have a lot to work on for Ripon Christian next week.
