A Book Review: Reckless

Reckless by Lauren Roberts

This book is after Powerless and it follows Paedyn and Kai and how they are both continuing life. Paedyn now hiding out and being a runaway, and Kai officially the king’s Enforcer is meant to track Paedyn and bring her back to the new king, Kai’s brother Kitt.  It follows the chase between the two of them.

I really enjoyed it, it got a little repetitive on the hunt at the beginning, but then it really picks up and gets really interesting! I just love reading about Paedyn and Kai’s interactions and I love just having them interact! And the ending makes me want the next book NOW. It sadly isn’t released until April 8th, 2025 and that one is going to be called Fearless and is finishing the trilogy!

Mattie McGuire is a senior at Hughson High School she changed schools her Sophomore year from Turlock Christian and it is her first and last year in Journalism. Mattie loves almost all animals and has a lot of pets since she lives on a farm but her favorite one is her corgi dog Lenny, he is her favorite thing ever! In her free time she’s probably with her dog curled up reading a book, she mostly reads fantasy but also enjoys thrillers and romance. She also enjoys listening to music and hanging out with her friends, most likely annoying them. After high school Mattie plans to go to college to be some sort of Vet and help all animals.

Keaton Grogan is a 17 year old senior and was born in Modesto but was raised in Hughson. He has attended Hughson schools his whole life. He is also involved in FFA. He has been involved in FFA since he was a freshmen. He also likes showing pigs at the county fair. Some of his hobbies are hanging out with his friends and fishing with his father. He also likes going on late night runs to dutch bros with his friends and also likes going cliff jumping.
