In the second week of TVFL, the Hughson Huskies played Ripon Christian in a close game that went down to the last second.
Through the air the Huskies had 202 passing yards going to receivers Lincoln Sousa (4 yards) and Jameson Davis (20 yards). Along with that, Malakai Sumter had 71 yards and a touchdown of his own on Friday night. Dynamic duo Robert McDaniel connected to his brother Bryce McDaniel for 109 yards and 2 touchdowns, with one of them being the game-winning touchdown.
On the ground Eli Wilbanks adds another 100+ yard game to his resume, rushing for 120 yards and a touchdown, averaging 8.6 yards a carry. Wilbanks seems to be unstoppable, as no team has had an answer for him. Teammates that helped with rushing were Malakai Sumter (15 yards) and Robert McDaniel (13 yards), which put the team at a total of 148 rushing yards in which the offense had 446 total yards.
Hughson High School’s defense went against the Ripon Christian offense. Hughson’s defense came out flat and let them score on the first drive. After that, they were pumped up by their coaches and they finally woke up and started to play real Hughson football with Colt Foss gaining a total of 15 tackles and Malakai Sumter gaining a total of 12 tackles. With all that being said, the Hughson Huskies walked off the field with another win in their season.
