This week the Hughson Huskies took on their cross town rivals the Escalon Cougars. Many in the town thought it was a good game, and it was. It was a close game until the very end.
Through the air, the Huskies had 190 yards going out the huskies receiving core. The top receivers were Bryce Mcdaniel (78 yards and 2 touchdowns), Malakai Sumter (52 yards and 1 touchdown), and Max Mankins (41 yards). Other key receivers who contributed were Lincoln Sousa (10 yards), and Jamesson Davis (9 yards).
On the ground, the Huskies had 143 yards with 4 different rushers. Eli Wilbanks had a good game and added another 100+ yard game to his varsity career with 108 yards. Other rushers that helped contribute were Malakai Sumter (25 yards), Robert Mcdaniel and Daniel Sotelo, both with 5 yards each. With that the Huskies were able to put up 421 yards.
The Hughson Huskies defense went against Escalon this week with the score being 21-24 and with it being such a good game there were a lot of good plays. Malakai Sumter with a total of 9 tackles, and Max Mankins with a total of 7 tackles, and Carlos Guizar with a total of 6 tackles. With all that being said, the Hughson Huskies’ defense had their biggest challenge yet. But the Hughson Huskies are still undefeated with the Hughson Huskies being 6-0.
