Welcome to week seven of The Pre-Game, this week there will be three huge road games to talk about across Hughson High. Here we will give you the best look inside some of the key players minds for a great prediction during the upcoming crucial week in Huskies sports.
Varsity Football October 18th @Orestimba V.S Orestimba High 7:00pm
This Friday Hughson will look to finish league strong on the road against Orestimba. The Warriors have a solid record but have been struggling in league especially against the higher competition. Outside of Sonora their opponents are a combined 8-20 on the year. The Huskies continue to make their push for a league title for the first time in around 27 years so this is a must win game for them. Starting slot receiver Lincoln Sousa had this to say about the expectations for this game “Our expectations for Orestimba are definitely to beat them. We are ranked number 1 in D5 in the San Joaquin for a reason. Every team that we play is out to beat us because of the way we have performed the past couple of years. I expect to beat Orestimba 34-14.”
Score Prediction 35-7 Huskies W
Varsity XC October 19th Hughson Supercross Invitational 9:00am
The Hughson High Cross country team has had a strong season. They have been placing well on all of the recent races but this one means a little bit more to the boys. As the season is approaching the end the Cross Country team is still looking for a first place trophy and with Bobby Nieto leading the team the odds aren’t too bad. Here is what he had to say about his goals for the race “My major goals are to race smart and run hard. As far as what time I want to get it would be around 17:30 for a 5k.” Wishing the best of luck to the team and with the early morning weather the race should be refreshing.
Score Prediction: Huskies 1st Place
Varsity Flag Football October 16th @ Hughson V.S Sonora 6:00pm
After a tough loss against Escalon at home the Huskies bounced back with a strong win against their biggest competition for the league title at Orestimba. Hughson can close out league and bring home a banner with a couple more wins, this game is crucial. The Huskies took care of Sonora at their place last time these two met with a score of 24-6 so the odds are looking even better with home field advantage. When asked on how their team could win league, the Huskies interception leader Tessah Burroughs had this to say “We need to keep working as a team and to put our egos aside by not overlooking any team like we did with Escalon. If we trust each other to do our jobs on the field I think we have a good chance at league.”
Score Prediction 26-0 Huskies W
As another week in Husky sports is here our athletes feel like they’re going to achieve big goals and dominate in their respective sports with intense practices and dedication. Through the wins and losses we will always show support. Here’s to hoping our teams bring their best and make us all proud as the days continue to pass.
