Welcome to week seven of The Pre-Game, this week there will be three big games to talk about across Hughson High. Here we will give you the best look inside some of the key players minds for a great prediction during the upcoming week in Huskies sports.
October 23rd, Varsity Flag Football v.s Orestimba @ Hughson High 6:00 PM
In a tight TVL match-up, this game could be the deciding factor for who gets a banner and who goes home empty handed. Orestimba, Escalon, and Hughson all stand at 6-1 in league at this time. The Huskies have won seven out of their last eight games and as the chemistry improves the banner looks more and more likely. The Warriors lost to Hughson earlier this season and are looking to even the series. Presley Wells, touchdown leader, says “This is a very big game for us having a chance to win league and bring our talents to the playoffs.” Best of luck to the Lady Huskies
October 25th, Varsity Football v.s Hilmar @ Hilmar High 7:00p.m.
For the TVL title the Hughson Huskies are on the road for their last regular season game. This team continues to prove they are special while looking to break a 27 year streak of coming up short. Even though Hilmar is having an off year they are never a team to sleep on especially in a big game like this. Senior, Jameson Davis has this to say about the big game “I’m am very excited about this game as we have not beaten them on varsity in a very long time, and we have a game plan that I am very confident in.”
October 30th, Varsity Cross Country TVL Championship @ River Bluff Park 3:00pm
The Cross Country Team has been very strong this year placing decently well in all the races with strong leadership and coaching. Their bodies are ready to face the harsh environments and mentally prepared. Ty Swain states, “The training has been very hard; we run 6 miles everyday at a 6:40 mile pace, we have been working out and taking care of our bodies by eating and drinking the proper nutrients we need to do well In this race.”
As another week in Husky sports is here our athletes feel like they’re going to achieve big goals and dominate in their respective sports with intense practices and dedication. Through the wins and losses we will always show support. Here’s to hoping our teams bring their best and make us all proud as the days continue to pass.
