The King introduced me to his son and he is close to my age. He is 20 years old and he is a part of the Holy Knights and those are soldiers who specialize in holy magic and swordsmanship and can imbue their holy magic into the weapons they use. His name is Daniel and is the only heir to the throne. Prince Daniel greeted me and I shook his hand, and then began 20 years of training. Two years later, I learned that incantations can activate certain spells. I practiced my magic incantations and it was difficult at first to form spells.
I managed to get the hang of it after two more years. My magic has to be a lot stronger though to face Asterix and the magic, I mostly have trouble with holy magic so I asked Prince Daniel for help. “What is it, John?” He asked. I said, “I need help with holy magic, every time I feel like I’m about to get it it just doesn’t work for some reason. I’ve mastered all of the other affinities, but, I can’t for some reason.” Daniel asked, “Do you have anything negative that’s blocking you from casting holy magic. I said yes and he asked, “What is it, what’s blocking you.” I told him that, “when I was 10 years old, my parents died from a robber who wanted my family’s money. Everything I’ve witnessed in my life has been cruel to me. I had no friends and I thought I could dull the pain that I had by joining the army. I thought that fighting for a great cause would help me dull the pain and all it did was make me feel more empty. Daniel, you’re the first person who would listen to the pain I’ve experienced in my life.”
Daniel said, “I get it, heck when I was 10 years old, My father and my mother faced the monstrosity Asterix and they failed and my mother died and my father returned with a scar across his eye. Now, I might lose my father too after your 20 year training is over. He casted an ancient spell that can only be used once, I’m sure he already told you. He sealed Asterix and bound Asterix to his life force and once he dies he will be released again and that’s why we are training to become strong enough to defeat him and save the kingdom.” I told him that he “is not alone and we are similar, you and I.” We lost lots of things important to us. Daniel started crying about his mother and I gave him a hug. The next day, Daniel and I became best friends and he invited me to eat dinner with his father after training and I accepted. I was grateful to get one friend in my life.
