Rachel Giesbrecht, also known as Mrs. Giesbrecht or Mrs. G, has been teaching for over thirty years. She enjoys being an English teacher. Giesbrecht’s favorite part about teaching is the people that she works with. Her favorite lessons to teach are anything about reading short stories. Giesbrecht enjoys being a Spanish teacher. If she wasn’t a teacher she would like to be a physical therapist. Giesbrecht’s goals for her students by the end of the year are to be confident.
When teaching students with special needs, Giesbrecht usually is told what needs they have and she tries her best to work with them. She handles classroom discipline by using a system of group points. She handles conflicts between students by involving a counselor. Giesbrecht engages students who are struggling by giving them assignments that they enjoy. She handles stress by spending time with family. Her advice for someone who wants to be a teacher is to observe classes to see if that’s what you really want to do. Giesbrecht does not have a select favorite memory at this school, she enjoys every moment instead.
