Cross Country’s Annual Supercross Invitational has been going on since 2007. This is one of the most enjoyable meets here in the area. Athletes look forward to this meet, some teams from L.A. drive five to six hours just to attend this Invitational. There is much to look forward to with the history and enjoyment experienced every year at this meet.
The course is one of a kind. Not only do you get to run a unique distance of four kilometers, but you also get to run through the course’s staple mud pit twice. You get to feel the “stadium pulse” in the race, since athletes start and finish in the Huskies Football Stadium. Racers run through the town’s iconic arboretum, a campus hallway, and hurdle over eight hay bales throughout the race. This is the most recent version of the course, but over the years, the course has changed quite a bit since the Invitational began.
The construction of Deputy Wallace Soccer fields and the installation of the Huskies Track affected the course, but nothing too significant. Ever since it began, the Supercross Invitational has gotten to show schools what Husky Spirit is all about.
