As the colder weather is coming many new movies have been released. During October many family’s and friends enjoy watching a spooky movie all huddled up in a blanket with warm drinks. With many movies being released and old Halloween movies being re-watched, family and friends have their different opinions on their favorite Halloween movies.
Sophia Spears and Olivia Piazza said “I think Hocus Pocus or Nightmare Before Christmas is the best Halloween movie.”
Halloween Ends, Hocus pocus, Scream, Casper and Ghostbusters are many classic Halloween movies many people enjoy watching. Most students at Hughson High School enjoy watching scary movies and classic Halloween movies but what ones are better?
Nick Peabody, a junior said, “I prefer watching classic Halloween movies because I hate scary movies and nightmares.”
Even though many people like horror movies, most people prefer classic Halloween movies more since they have been watching them since they were little and grew up watching them every October.
After interviewing several more students we found out that the most loved classic movies were Halloween Town and Hocus Pocus because they are movies you can re-watch and not get sick of.
Xander Brandon, a freshman, said “I like watching horror movies more because they are more interesting to watch. My favorite is Halloween Ends because it is such a good movie to watch with my friends and I never get sick of it.”
Horror movies like Smile, Halloween, Scream, Halloween Ends and Terrifier are good horror movies that people get a kick out of. Horror movies make people feel terror and get you hiding under your blankets waiting to see what happens next. Horror movies are a way to deal with fears or fear itself.
Mariah Ruiz, a freshman, said “I love watching horror movies as much as I love watching classic Halloween movies but if I would have to choose I would choose horror movies since I love getting scared.”
Many favorite family Halloween movies were Casper, It’s the Great Pumpkin, Frankenweenie, and The Haunted Mansion because it gets the family together and is an easy way to bond with your family or even friends.
Finley Wells, a senior, said “I enjoy watching Halloween movies with my family because it gives us a way to hang out as a family and make many memories.”
As we were asking people what their favorite Halloween movies were we got a mix of classic and horror movies. We found out that the best classic movie was Hocus Pocus and the Addams Family and the best horror movie was Scream and Halloween Ends.
